Givens Estates is looking to hire a full-time Infection Preventionist. This is a 40 hours per week position performing Infection Preventionist Duties for up to 28 hours and working one 12-hour shift as a licensed nurse in one of our clinical areas weekly. The primary responsibility of this vital role will be developing, implementing, and maintaining the infection prevention program for the entire campus. 

What you’ll do:

  • Lead infection testing/tracking, symptom monitoring, and vaccine management
  • Ensure vaccine, testing, and infection tracking documentation remains timely and complete, and actively participate in quality assurance activities
  • Monitor team members from all departments to ensure proper infection prevention techniques are utilized and address issues in a timely and consistent manner
  • Collaborate with leadership, ensuring compliance with all current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facilities, primarily as related to infection prevention

What you’ll need:

  • Current unencumbered RN license in the state of North Carolina
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience, at least one year in a long-term care facility. Prefer 3-5 years in a geriatric setting
  • Proficient knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office suite
  • Attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy
  • Superior communication (both oral and written)
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt with minimal supervision

Added plus (not required) if the candidate has: 

  • a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • a current SPICE training and/or CPR instructor certification
