Givens Communities, a nationally recognized nonprofit senior housing organization in Asheville, NC, is looking to hire a full-time Administrative Assistant. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Administrative Assistant will have a fantastic opportunity to directly support the Development, LifeMinistries, and Ministries departments in a dynamic organization that offers competitive compensation and an outstanding benefits package! What you’ll do: 

  • Utilize Raiser's Edge Donor Management Software for donor tracking and data entry to support our Development team
  • Assist our Ministries team with weekly Vespers bulletins, memorial services, meeting minutes etc.
  • Work closely with the LifeMinistries team and other outreach partnerships with local non-profit organizations in support of the Givens mission
  • Create documents, reports, and presentations utilizing various computer programs
  • Assist in planning and implementation of Givens events
  • Prioritize, organize, and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Perform a wide variety of administrative duties as required by daily operations

What you’ll need: 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with preference to business related major and related administrative support experience
  • Proficient knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and InDesign
  • Previous training or experience in Development and/or fundraising is highly desired
  • Database management experience
  • Attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy
  • Superior communication (both oral and written)
  • Ability to exercise discretion when handling strictly confidential information
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt with minimal supervision
  • Microsoft Office Certification or willing to obtain upon hire
  • NC Notary Public or willing to obtain upon hire
