Givens Highland Farms Health Care Center in Black Mountain, NC, is seeking a full-time and salaried Director of Nursing (DON) with excellent management and organizational skills to lead our team of nursing professionals and oversee resident care. This is a fantastic opportunity to become associated with this beautiful, well-respected, 5-star skilled nursing facility. What you'll do:

  • Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility
  • Supervise a team of nurses and medical personnel to deliver quality patient care
  • Interview, hire, and train team members and monitor their performance
  • Manage nursing staff schedules and workloads
  • Use your nursing skills and knowledge to advise in difficult or long term care situations
  • Complete reporting and auditing requirements in a timely manner

What you'll need:

  • Current North Carolina RN license 
  • Minimum of 2 years’ DON or ADON experience is required
  • Passion for team member empowerment and positive engagement skills
  • Flexibility to work a schedule to meet the needs of day and night shift staff
  • The ability to manage staffing and scheduling needs
  • a proven track record of QAPI implementation and strong survey results in a long-term/skilled nursing facility setting in the last 5 years
  • Knowledge and understanding of QAPI mindset
  • Ability to manage quality measures
  • Be a change agent and comfortable with visionary change management

Added bonus if you have Life Plan Community (LPC) or Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) experience!
