Givens Highland Farms Health Care Center is seeking a full-time Programming Assistant! Reporting to the Recreation Therapy Coordinator, this vital position implements programs various life enrichment activities developed to  meet the wellness needs of residents and ensure the highest degree of quality of life.

What you’ll do:

  • Implement group and one-on-one recreational therapy programs;
  • Assist with ideas for new programming;
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of participation and report issues as needed;
  • Assist as needed to support planned resident outings
  • Participate in departmental meetings, resident council meetings, and inter-disciplinary care plan meetings as needed
  • Assist with specific programs and special projects as assigned 

What you’ll need:

  • Basic to intermediate skills with Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Show initiative within a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
  • Prioritize tasks while providing exemplary support to our residents
  • Able to work in an inclusive and respectful workplace and exhibit exemplary customer service
  • Must have a flexible schedule to meet the needs of a 24/7 operation, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Added plus if you have:

  • Experience working with geriatric settings
  • Experience with dementia is a plus
  • LRT or LRTA certification is preferred but not required
  • Will consider music, art or recreation therapy experience
