We are recruiting for a Director of Nursing for our 84 bed Medicaid/Medicare certified Skilled Nursing Center. This is a wonderful opportunity for a North Carolina RN with minimum of 3-4 years’ experience as a Nursing Supervisor or DON in the Nursing Home environment to become associated with this beautiful, well respected, 5 star facility. A passion for culture change, focusing on resident engagement in the care process is imperative. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility. Desired candidate will have a strong understanding of Skilled Nursing facility regulations and Board of Nursing practices. The ideal candidate will develop, maintain, and update the Nursing Services Procedures manual, and work collaboratively with many multi-disciplinary teams.
Preferred candidate will possess excellent communication and organization skills and proven experience with recruiting, staffing and team building/employee relations. A strong staff retention focus is imperative, as is establishing and maintaining a culture of teamwork. Proven experience with budget development and management. The preferred candidate should demonstrate strong and honest communication skills and engender trust from residents, co-workers, and families. The candidate should be able to set and maintain high standards of nursing care. Experience in a retirement community will be a plus. Candidate must possess an unencumbered RN license in the State of North Carolina.
