Philanthropy has played a key role in helping Givens accomplish its mission. The generosity of Dr. and Mrs. Givens has resulted in a beautiful story of an organization grounded in the belief that it should serve people from all walks of life.

There are many ways to contribute to Givens. Donations of cash, check, and credit card are welcome as well as gifts of securities, appreciated assets, and life insurance. Givens is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. All gifts are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Memorial Gifts

Tribute gifts honor or remember a loved one or friend.

Gift amounts remain confidential, and each honorarium or memorial gift is acknowledged to the person honored or their family, as indicated by the donor. Tribute gifts support the Resident Assistance Ministry unless otherwise designated by the donor. All gifts will be acknowledged and recognized.

Resident Assistance Ministry

The Resident Assistance Ministry is at the core of Givens' mission providing financial support, services, and housing to residents whose resources are limited.

One out of five residents on all our campuses confidentially receives financial assistance. The Resident Assistance Ministry requires approximately $1.3 million annually and is supported by residents, staff, board members, churches, and friends.

Gifts received for the Mother's Day Offering, Christmas Gift of Care, and tributes strengthen this ministry.

Planned Giving

Planned giving can provide tax-favorable benefits including increased income, tax deductions, and partial or full bypass of potential capital gains on appreciated property.

Givens' Development Office is familiar with bequests, charitable remainder trusts, charitable gift annuities, gifts of real and personal property, life estates, life insurance, and residency agreement refunds.

Information is also available at regarding estate and planned gifts for residents, friends, attorneys, CPAs, financial planners, CLUs, trust officers, and other gift planning professionals.

Endowment Funds

More than thirty endowments have been established by residents and friends to enrich Givens' mission and ministry.

Endowment funds provide ongoing support for the Resident Assistance Ministry and other specific needs within our communities.
