Giving Back

“Philanthropy has played a vital role in the Givens story. Dr. and Mrs. Givens’ generosity continues to inspire our mission to improve lives. Our commitment to this vision is just as strong as it was in 1979. Charitable gifts provide programs, care, and amenities that meet residents’ needs, enrich their lives, and keep the communities affordable. The philanthropic investment in our mission and organization touches every corner of our campuses, and our outreach endeavors ripple throughout our region.”

– Brian Guengerich, Vice President of Philanthropy
– Mark Bailey, Director of Philanthropy

How to Give

Resident Assistance Ministry

The Resident Assistance Ministry confidentially helps residents facing significant financial hardships. It is at the center of Given’s mission to be good stewards of resources and provide financial support, services, and housing to those with limited resources. The generous gifts from thousands of people over the years make this support possible.

Resident Assistance Ministry By the Numbers

  • Givens secured $4.1 million to help residents in all four communities in 2020.
  • One out of five residents on all our campuses confidentially receives financial assistance or reduced cost of housing.
  • The Resident Assistance Ministry requires approximately $1.4 million annually and is supported by residents, staff, board members, churches, and friends.
  • Givens provided $972,732 in resident assistance funds in 2020 to cover the gap between the cost of care and Medicaid payments.
